Lauderdale Scout Group in partnership with the Southern Upland Moorland Group are very pleased to be able to announce that the Duke of Northumberland has granted permission for the lighting of a beacon on Thursday 2nd June to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The Beacon will be erected on Dabshead Hill.

Lauderdale Scout Group have over 200 youth members aged 4 - 18, supported by over 40 adults, they attract members from a wide area of the Scottish Borders and Dadshead sits in the middle of the catchment area.

The Southern Upland Moorland Group was founded in 2015, run by the men and women on the ground. Created to promote our life and work in the Southern Uplands and to showcase working life in the Southern Uplands.

Due to the remote location of the beacon the event is NOT open to the public but the beacon will be visible across Lauderdale and beyond.
